Bold Minds is building infrastructure for knowledge that generations of historians, educators, and families have preserved. The Advisory Board is how that knowledge stays honest, accurate, and rooted as it moves into a digital learning ecosystem.
What the Advisory Board does
The Bold Minds Advisory Board is a panel of educators, scholars, and practitioners who review what we build before it reaches children. Members advise on curriculum accuracy and cultural grounding, help shape the learning experience, and connect the Foundation to institutions and communities across the diaspora. The Black Factx card game was the first product reviewed under this model.
Who we are looking for
Historians and scholars of African, African American, Caribbean, and Afro-Latin studies. K-12 educators and curriculum designers. Geneticists, genealogists, and anthropologists. Technologists, AI specialists, and learning experience designers. Writers, illustrators, animators, and filmmakers. Leaders from museums, libraries, universities, HBCUs, and diaspora organizations. If you have carried this knowledge in your work, there is a place for you here.
What the commitment looks like
Advisory members typically review materials a few times a year, join periodic working sessions, and lend their name and expertise to the project. There is no fundraising requirement. We ask for candor, care, and a willingness to tell us when we have something wrong.

Review curriculum for accuracy and cultural grounding, advise on age-appropriate learning design, and help us teach the full continuum of African and diaspora history.

Guide the AI learning companion, the digital library, and the interactive experiences so the technology serves the mission rather than the other way around.
