Our Story
Our history exists. Our knowledge exists. Our stories exist. What has been missing is a widely adopted digital learning ecosystem built to bring them together. That gap is where Bold Minds begins.
Bold Minds is an education and cultural empowerment initiative for children, families, and communities across the global African diaspora. Children of African descent attend schools all over the world, and much of what they could learn about the people, civilizations, and ideas that shaped Africa and its diaspora is spread across books, museums, archives, family tables, and individual programs. Generations of historians, educators, and families have preserved that knowledge. We are building new infrastructure for how it gets organized, experienced, taught, and carried forward.
The Bold Minds Foundation is the home for that work: the board, the advisory committee, and the partners, donors, and volunteers helping to build a digital school, an AI learning companion, and real-world programs where diaspora knowledge is foundational rather than supplemental. The Academy is where children learn. The Foundation is where we build it, together.

Where We Started
Bold Minds began with a question: if AI becomes one of the primary ways our children access knowledge, who makes sure our knowledge is there? In 2024 we started forming partnerships in the U.S., on the Continent, and in the Caribbean, hosted pre-launch community events, and collected more than 100 lessons and modules of K-6 learning material. In 2025 we incorporated, published our first children’s book, and laid the foundation for Bold Minds Academy.
Mission & Values
Learning should feel like discovery. We are building an educational ecosystem where a child can understand ancient Africa and contemporary Africa, the transatlantic slave trade and the civilizations that came centuries before it, and their own place in a much larger human story. Culture and future. Knowledge and imagination. History and innovation.
